Gilbert White, the 18th-century naturalist and ornithologist, called this estate home for much of his life. Sprawling lawns and exquisite grounds surround the fully restored villa; a leisurely walk through the garden and tea in the Parlour Room are well-advised. The Oates Museum exhibits photographs and films which describe the life and adventures of Captain Lawrence Oates. Come and have a look at the different artifacts and other specimens from his collection and get to know more about his journey. Open daily for most of the year, kindly check the website for more details. Also last admission at 4.30 p.
