Overview
Coughton Court has been the home of the Throckmorton family since they built it around 1409. It close connections with the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 and hence has historical importance. Behind the Tudor Gatehouse house is the courtyard with its fine Elizabethan half-timbering. The house covers 25 acres of grounds and has some of the most beautiful and breathtaking gardens in the country. Clare McLaren-Throckmorton's intention to create a garden was indeed a good decision as it compliments the beautiful house incredibly. Check the website for timings.
