Betty's Tea Rooms, York

Never failing to delight in service and food quality, Betty's is one of a number of exclusive high tea rooms found within the same neighborhood. A genuine treasure in York, this is a popular place for both afternoon tea or an evening meal and you'll find the 20s style dining area, right down to the staff's attire, brings a rather old-time atmosphere. Every evening, between 6pm and 9pm, a pianist plays popular melodies and although there are plenty of seats, the sheer popularity of the place means it is always going to be busy. A selection of teas and coffees are available, as is a large choice of pastries, scones and cakes. These cover all price ranges, from the perfectly reasonable to the very expensive.
