This is a city-center pub that is very popular with nearby office workers by day and young twenty-something clubbers by night. It has a great layout and plenty of room for anyone who wants to "do lunch". Because it has loads of tables, getting a seat is never difficult. The décor is a mixture of modern and old, and the assorted bric-a-brac on the walls just adds to the comfortable atmosphere of the pub: there's even a satellite TV available for sports fans. It can get a little noisy at times and isn't the place for a romantic evening but if you're young and trendy, then this place will appeal to you. The service does tend to be slow, especially at peak times. The only downside is that the beer isn't the best in York and can be expensive.
