Plonkers Wine Bar, York

Found in the city-center, this is an enjoyable, lively wine bar and bistro with a lively atmosphere and a variety of choice of food, including a great Thai menu. Vegetable Fajitas is a great choice and if you're a big meat eater then you won't be disappointed. The interior is spacious and based on decor from the Eighties with some interesting farming implements thrown in for good measure. Its quite dimly lit, and at peak times it can get a bit crowded, but the riverside is only a few yards away and The Gallery,the largest night club in the city center, is just around the corner.
