Riverside Farm, York

This is the larger of the two Tom Cobleigh pubs in York; the other is The Punch Bowl. Being on the outskirts of York means that this pub is mostly used by people passing through or by those specifically traveling away from the city for a meal. It is a perfectly family-oriented pub and very spacious, so most days getting a table should not be a problem. However, on bank holidays and other public holidays, this is one of the more common places people tend to flock to, especially as there is a play area for young children here too. The menu offers a very broad range of food, from chili and curry to all-day breakfasts and steak. The service can be a little on the slow side, but happily, portions are usually quite large.
