Brandons Beach, Barbados

Brandons Beach is just north of the Bridgetown Port and the Shallow Draught Facility for pleasure cruisers, and is a popular locale for bathers, swimmers, and cruise ship passengers looking for a good beach on their day in port. From as early as 5am you will find Barbadians, old and young, at the beach for their morning swim. On evenings, it is equally well populated by exercise buffs. Changing facilities are available and a lifeguard is in attendance. Non-bathers can have lunch or dinner at the popular Weisers Restaurant on the beach. Brandons is the location of the annual Pan on the Sand steelpan event during the Crop Over season, as well as beach volleyball championships throughout the year. -Marsilyn Browne
