Overview
The Cubana Monument was erected in 1998 following the 1971 bombing of Air Cubana Flight CU455. The plane took off from Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados and exploded over the sea. The Cubana Monument is a serene tribute that was unveiled during a visit from Fidel Castro to the island. The monument is a plain, square-based pyramid that overlooks the sea and the sandy beach area of Payne's Bay. -Nadia Ali
