Overview

The most elegant setting for entertainment in the city, the Frank Collymore Hall is the venue for plays, concerts and lectures. Named for renowned Barbadian poet, the late Frank Collymore, the hall was developed for professional performances and has stage, sound and lighting management facilities, as well as facilities for live radio and TV broadcasts. The hall is located within the Tom Adams Financial Centre, which also houses the Central Bank of Barbados. The hall seats 491 persons and an extensive balcony area is usually used for post-performance cocktail receptions. Among the events held at the hall is the annual Sir Winston Scott Memorial lecture, named for the first native governor-general of Barbados, and performances for NIFCA, the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts.  -Marsilyn Browne
