Overview
This 15 acre island was once the site of experiments conducted by Dr. David Wingate. Wingate became enamored with the island and set up programs to save endangered species of Bermudian birds. He transformed what was once a juvenile hall into the wildlife sanctuary it is today. The island's environment has been designed to include some of Bermuda's most precious flora and fauna, including the Bermuda cedar. The Bermuda Centre for Biological Research conducts day tours of the island for USD75. Contact them for more information.
