Overview

Inaugurated in 1996 by former president Joaquin Balaguer, this extensive green area, comprised of six independent parks, is one of the lungs of the city. It is an ideal spot to make family picnics or practice sports such as jogging and biking. It includes an artificial lake where paddle boats are available to rent. Mirador Norte Park is part of the protected ecological area denominated “green belt,” which surrounds Santo Domingo.
