Overview
Lover's Leap Lighthouse is a red and white painted beacon that stands 100 feet (30 meters) tall. Its name comes from a true love story. Two slaves were chased to the cliffside and rather than be separated, the lovers held hands and jumped off the edge, plunging several hundred feet to their untimely end. Visitors to the site can view a wooden carving depicting the two lovers. There is a small but friendly restaurant and a display of historic relics nearby. Visitors can also enjoy the panoramic view over Cutlass Bay from 1700 feet (518 meters) above sea level. -Nadia Ali
