Museo Historico de Acapulco or the Acapulco Historical Museum chronicles the history of Mexico. It is nestled in the domineering Fuerte de San Diego, an 18th Century fort located atop the harbor. Each of the 13 exhibition halls feature exquisite and unique collection that varies from objects, important documents, artifacts to archaeological displays. The museum also has an auditorium and shop on-site; the special education department manages the temporary exhibitions and events held here. Call ahead for more details.
