Overview

The Maracaibo Reef is the most challenging of all dives but also the most thrilling. Immense coral formations start at 121 feet below where sharks, manta rays and loggerhead turtles can be seen along with other monsters. You will need excellent deep water skills to handle the strong currents that carry you past beautiful gorgonians, elephant ear sponges and black coral. Black Shark Dive Shop is one of the few dive operations that schedule regular dives to this reef. You must make reservations with others. It is part of the Parque Marino de Cozumel.
