If you want to experience some real local Mayan food off the beaten track, this no frills restaurant serves tacos (filled maize tortillas) and tortas (a type of sandwich) with cochinita pibil Sundays to Fridays and lechon al horno on Saturdays. Cochinita pibil is pork marinaded in orange juice and Mayan spices and lechon al horno is a kind of Mayan roast suckling pig. The meat is cooked fresh daily and the flavors and prices are fantastic.
