Kousmine Delight , Mexico City

The cuisine at Kousmine Delight restaurant in Mexico City's Condesa follows the philosophy of Catherine Kousmine. The doctor and scientist, born in Russia in 1904, gained renown for espousing a healthy diet that is said to prevent illnesses - cancer in particular. At Kousmine Delight, which is open most days for lunch and early dinner, ten tables occupy the sidewalk on a narrow street between Parque Mexico and Parque Espana. Diners partake of a four-course fixed price meal that might feature flavorful cream of lettuce soup, green salad with fusilli pasta, Chicken Kiev, and, for dessert, a slice of Mango Bavarian.
