Overview

Though the name is casual, this restaurant on Playa de los Muertos appeals to sophisticated tastes. Obviously, the daiquiris have to be excellent, and they are, combining fresh fruits with top-quality liquors for the Strawberry and Peach daiquiris. The tropical atmosphere is a perfect place to take in the view of Banderas Bay. Entrées include Californian, Mexican and Asian influences, and the Chinese Chicken Salad combines them all. The "Ultimate Sunday Brunch" draws a big crowd and the dress code is very casual.

  California cuisine blended with traditional Mexican flavors are to be found at this fine Puerto Vallarta gourmet restaurant on Los Muertos beach in the Old Town area. The Daiquiri Dick menu includes filet of fish "Zarandeado", BBQ spareribs, butter fried prawns and chicken in Oaxacan mole. Highly rated and one of the overall favorite restaurants in town year after year according to local polls. I have dined here several times over the years and have found both for myself and talking to friends and clients that Daiquiri Dick's is rightly noted for its fine service and relaxed ambience with very pleasant views of Los Muertos beach and Banderas Bay. Some of the best food in Puerto Vallarta. Owners Peter and Tari Bowman recently celebrated 40 years and have a cookbook of their recipes out, Sand in Your Shoes.
