The Mexican government protects this island wildlife sanctuary that sits just offshore from Puerto Vallarta proper. Most of the protected wildlife resides beneath the surface here at El Moro. Go scuba diving, the most popular way to spend an afternoon while visiting the island, and look at the many fish and sea turtles that have made the reefs a comfortable home. Glass-bottom boat rides are also a convenient way to see all of the underwater life without getting all wet. If you have a little more time, try some cave exploring.
