Overview

The month of June marks the beginning of the summer months in Puerto Vallarta, and with it the beginning of the sea turtle season. Many varieties of sea turtles depend on Banderas Bay as a breeding ground and so in order to help with the preservation of those turtles, many hotels have started programs to protect the eggs by building nurseries. Adults and children are usually invited to participate in daily Turtle Liberation ceremonies, a fun way to celebrate the propagation of the species.
