This large and versatile building was originally erected by the Seventh Day Adventist Church as an evacuation shelter, to assist with the relocation effort from the volcanic activity. It now serves as the main SDA church, and also accommodates meetings, concerts, lectures, health drives, elderly socials and more. There's a large modern kitchen for group catering, and there's a great view from this building. The church has active Pathfinders and Adventurers clubs for children and young people, and is active in community service. Sabbath (Saturday) service is at 9.15 am.
