While you are out and about on a round-the-island tour, take a drive up Mount Eagle, at 1,165 feet, the island's highest point. The giant painted paw prints at the base of the paved road are road markers used to tell bicyclists that they have reached what is called the Beast in the annual St. Croix Half Ironman Triathlon. Reach Mount Eagle via Route 80. Turn left on Route 69. The hill starts immediately. There is no admission charge.
