Perry Art Gallery, Tel Aviv

This is, in a sense, a poster shop. The content matter, however, does not include rock and roll bands or cute puppies. These are prints of classic ad posters, from the time when it wasn't above a fine artist to engage in such commercial activity. Well known artists are represented, including Toulouse Lautrec, as well as more obscure artists. The posters are thus works of art in themselves, and interestingly reflect the cultural sensibilities of generations past. The only other Perry Art Gallery is in New York. The prices will settle once and for all that this isn't just a poster shop.
