The first thing one notices on entering Kaktus Cafe in Istanbul is the huge photographs on the walls and the Parisian seating with wooden tables. The place is pretty popular and sees a fair number of writers who are engaged in intellectual conversations while sipping on coffee or puffing on a cigarette. The cafe serves alcohol as well as some extremely strong coffees. Among the favorites here are the usual glasses of red wine, lattes and local made Turkish beer. Experiment with the traditional delicacy 'taksim kitir' if you're really hungry.
