Harold's Cave Creek Corral, Scottsdale

Long before Cave Creek was the trendy place for city slickers to build their winter homes, there was Harold's, a legend with locals since 1935. The true-to-life Arizona ambiance has been seen in many films and has been visited by many celebrities. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, kick up your heels to the live country music. The restaurant takes up two levels, with a full bar on each floor and with western ranch paraphernalia all over. Rustic furnishings and photos of the place's history give it a "this-ain't-no-country-club" attitude. Choose from menu items such as the 29-ounce "Whole Herd" Porterhouse, or the Veal Scaloppini. This place also features pizza, pasta and fish if you prefer, with a slew of "appeteasers." Bands play on weekends and add to the zing of the place. Catering is also offered, accommodating 20 to 300 people.
