North of the Arizona Canal lies Phoenix's very own bat cave. During the evening at sunset, the bats stream out in hordes to begin their nighttime hunt. This daily phenomenon is a sight to behold as the colony of bats can be seen racing through the sky. You'll need to take a walk through the countryside to view this with boulders and ledges doubling as your front row seats. Perhaps, a good activity to involve the kids in.
