  Phoenix dog track closed 12/1/10. Dog racing is not cruel nor inhumane. Arizona does a wonderful job and ensuring the dogs are well cared for. The process is too extensive to go into here, but if someone has a problem with greyhound racing they should check their facts. These dogs are happiest when running, and after retirement continue to run for fun (unless they are sleeping!) I have worked w/severeal Greyhound rescue groups and actually toured the greyhound track while it was still open. I have also owned several retired racers and fostered even more.   Dear AOL, There are two huge problems with this advertisement. 1) Dog racing is cruel and inhumane and the only "sure bet" is that greyhounds suffer because of it. Go to to get the facts on the number of dogs seriously injured and dead because of this so-called "sport." 2) Phoenix Greyhound Park closed down on December 19, 2009.
