The Cholla is the original course at We-Ko-Pa, with more elevation and more challenge than the newer Saguaro Course. Located on Yavapai Nation's land, this is a fine example of Sonoran desert-style golf with target golf off the tee and generous landing areas. Golfers can see four mountain ranges from the course and no homes. It's pure golf with one of the most stunning clubhouses in the nation. The golf course was created to play a challenging 7,225 yards (6041.02 square meters) from the back tees, but with multiple tee boxes that are well-spaced to cater to players of all calibers. The tee boxes are elevated, so players are hitting down to the fairways; and you'll need it, as there is not a lot of roll. Surface and Service is the motto at We-Ko-Pa, and that you'll get with excellent conditioning and attention to detail. Opens daily at 7am.
