We decided to take a drive to Tucson from Phoenix to visit some friends and catch Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack show that we had heard about through other friends. Tucson was closer than Las Vegas so off we went. The casino isn't Vegas, but it's fun. The staff was friendly and the food was much better than expected. I lost a few bucks, but that was to be expected. The star of our sojourn was Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack show. Wow what a fun show! It takes you back in time and leaves you in the present at the same time. The performers only resemble the actual guys in looks but they evoke the memories of those guys in a way that reached through to long forgotten shows I had gotten to see as a young man in my mid twenties when I was starstruck by the original guys who were just the coolest cats ever. I was so impressed then I went out and got half a dozen Sinatra LP's to listen to. I still have a phonograph and listen to them with regularity. The comedy was hysterical! I haven't laughed that hard in years, make that decades. To quote Lawrence Welk, the band was wonerful, wonerful! There was a woman in the show that shows up unexpected and sang a song that I'd never heard, that left me in tears as it brought back memories of a love that I once had and had lost. She was stunningly beautiful and had the voice of an angel. I wish she had sung some more but then i guess the old adage leave em wanting more was heeded here. I have been privileged to see many wonderful shows in my life. This show was the best in recent memory and probably longer. It was so much better than I had even hoped for. Wow! Next time Desert Diamond brings this show back, I'm filling up the motor home and bringing a gang! Thanks for a great time Desert Diamond! Rick Malory...   Read More
