HOTEL OVERVIEW

Stylish Hotel, part of Disneyland; designed to pay homage to 19th & early 20th century Arts & Crafts Movement.

AOL Travel Editor's Review

Disney dug deep into its wallet to create this Arts and Crafts-style resort, throwing down some serious cash to include original tiles, furniture, sculpture and artwork throughout the AAA Four Diamond Hotel. Visitors enter through subtle stained-glass sliding panels leading to an awesome six-story lobby living room with exposed wood support beams, display cases of Craftsman vases and early Roycroft metalworks, and a three-story fireplace hearth. Guest rooms continue the Arts and Crafts theme, though bathrooms are small and generic. To avoid the weekend noise from Downtown Disney, you may want to request a view room not over the District. Two pools (one with a waterslide) are shaded by trees, and there’s a well-equipped fitness room, as well as a Mandara Spa. There’s also a fun game room/video arcade to ensure you won’t be bored during your downtime at the hotel. Every day at 4PM, the hotel hosts a scavenger hunt for hotel guests. On Magic Morning Early Entry days, hotel guests are invited to enter Disneyland before the park opens to the general public, in order to enjoy select rides before the crowds arrive.

MY two daughters, my grandson (3yrs) and myself stayed here. Spent 4000 dollars for 5 days(tickets included) and had a ball. Yes it is expensive, but the convenience is so amazing, and we were treated like gold. When traveling with a little one, this is the place. He was given a ballon bouquet on arrival, character breakfast and front door to the parks. No car needed. Made it easy, easy, easy. Short walk in afternoon to hotel for a nap. Front door entrance to downtown disney for lunch or breakfast which are reasonably priced, better than the parks. Won't ever do it the old way again! We have been to disneyland many times and stayed at many places but this was the best ever!...   Read More

It's a Great place! We never eat there, though. Disneyland had a lot of easy priced food now and so does California Adventure. Food in a high priced hotel will always be high priced! Rich people stay there and they aren't going to be paying $10. for a meal. Just grab a healthy (fairly expensive but Big) Jambo Juice and head into one of the parks. Who wants to sit for an hour eating when you can be riding anyway? Not your kids. There are carts in Adventureland and elsewhere that have morning goodies: you can get fresh fruit (bananas, mangoes, grapes, pineapple, apples, oranges, watermelon, etc.) nuts, muffins, all kinds of good stuff. Main Street has a big cart with drinks, fresh and dried fruit, nuts, pickles, juice. There meals are easier. The $10. Bread bowls (Chili, Chowder or Shrimp Louie) are Huge. My favorite is Shrimp and at the Pier in CA Adventure near the water and bridge. There are reasonable eating places all over the New Orleans area and you can even eat overlooking Rivers of America. Try to preplan your eating and snacking. Only allow a certain amount for snacks a day. I think the popcorn is great and we always get the frozen lemonaid of a hot day. It goes a long way. Maybe you could plan on eating your evening meal out of the Resort and away from Downtown Disney. The Grand Californian (does anyone else have trouble remember that name? After years) is a beautiful hotel that takes a lot of walking to get around but the rooms are great and the views excellent. The "Disneyness", not so much. A little snooty. The Pool too, not enough lounges and many are left empty with wet towels on them leaving you thinking someone is sitting there, but no one ever shows up and others save multi lounges where no one shows up either. If you want to keep an eye on your kids you have to stand by the pool. But, all hotels have their little problems and hey, you're at Disneyland!!...   Read More

Not worth the price, I'll tell you that for sure. Disney already rips off so many of it's loyal followers, and this is one of the biggest.
