Overview
In 1972, ARCO commissioned AC Martin Powers to design these twin towers: 52 stories of serious gray. The building houses the ARCO headquarters as well as one of the Bank of America offices. Outside on the plaza is a red helical sculpture called Double Ascension by Herbert Bayer. Underground there are seven acres of shopping and eating establishments, a church, a fitness center and a post office. ARCO Plaza is indeed a mini-city.
