Overview
East West Players was the first-ever Asian American theater in the United States. It produces everything from traditional classics to Broadway productions as well as plays about the Asian American experience. All of the in-house plays are written by Asian Americans and they have a literary program to support writers in the community, encouraging young playwrights and screenwriters to introduce original works. The theater building was named a National Historic Landmark in 1995.
