Living in Los Angeles is partly about late night taco truck stops en el barrio but the taco truck search starts and ends with King Taco. What started in 1974 in a converted ice cream truck has now taken over Los Angeles with 16 locations and counting. The original King Taco is located in L.A.'s Eagle Rock neighborhood, technically Cypress Park on Cypress Avenue. Don't be alarmed by the tin shack or the sheet metal roof, in fact it adds to the experience and ultimately the meal. King Taco's carne asada boasts lemon flavor, while its al pastor, slow cooked pork is tender and sweet. Sopes, cornmeal shells filled with meat, refried beans, cabbage and fresh cojita cheese are among the favorites on the menu. Have a grand feast at King Taco!
