Little Joy Cocktail Lounge, Los Angeles

If there were an award for being the "‘dive-iest" dive bar in LA, this place would sweep away the competition. The draft PBR is almost as cheap as cheap bottled water, and the well drinks are a steal. On top of paying a small price for booze, Little Joy-goers get pretty-people-watching to boot: the crowd here is wild and interestingly diverse, from backbench Hollywood stars to gay Latino couples to the drunk vegan-girl-next-door. The tunes are decent, from 80s hits to 90s one-hit-wonders. The only drawbacks here are the cash-only policy—a frequent cause for gripes among locals—and the mediocre liquor. But hey, that's what a dive bar is all about!
