Tsunami Coffee House, Los Angeles

Tsunami Coffee House is one of those oh-so-Silverlake hangouts, and although it has only been around since the mid 1990s, it has become a Sunset Junction fixture where Sunset intersects at Sanborn Street. The place is dark and funky with psychedelic walls, but the vibe is cool and attracts a cross-generational clientele. Open Mic Wednesday's are very popular, and the creative amongst you can do their thing, whether it be poetry, music or comedy. All sign-ups must be completed by 7:45p. There are about 12 blends of coffee, which are all flavorful and run the gamut from robust to mild. It also serves sandwiches and pastries.
