When it first opened its doors in 1976, The Vex Arts was a bustling hub for underground punk music, where the now famous bands like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Adolescents, Circle Jerks and Black Flag once performed. It's reopening in 2012 by the owner Joe Vex on Alhambra Avenue, brought back the memories among the locals of the iconic status this club enjoyed back then. Today, the center is not just focused on live music events, but also serves as a platform for many young and aspiring artists in the fields of modern and contemporary art, drama, dance and other forms of performing arts. Get a bottle of beer along and be prepared to watch your favorite performers in action at this vibrant arts and cultural center.
