St. James created the "Icon Bar" in his restaurant, filling it with images collected during his own travels, but he himself is an icon of Palm Springs dining. Have a craving for a prime New York steak, flavored with ginger-Merlot butter? Or a Burmese Bouillabaisse? These and other delightfully different offerings keep diners coming back. St. James encourages adventurous diners to drop in just for an appetizer course if they wish to sample other restaurants in the same evening. He probably knows that few will tear themselves away.
