JRDN at Tower23, San Diego

Gazing at Pacific beach, buzzing with surfers, bikers, and beachcombers, is only one of the delights of dining at JRDN, the restaurant on the Ocean-front ground floor of the swanky Tower 23 hotel. Aside from the excellent view and sweet ocean breezes, the food is delicious and the drink selection is excellent. The Lobster B.L.T., served with toasted brioche and tarragon aioli, comes bursting with fresh lobster meat, along with a side of yummy fries. The indoor bar area has a pleasant, posh ambiance of its own, echoing the sea with walls made of white chrome shaped into vertical waves. Take a trip to the bathroom to check out the funky design, and rather special automatic hand driers. Call ahead for hours.
