Overview
Los Peñasquitos Canyon has a long and colorful history, it has seen wars being fought, armies retreating and was the site of one of the first telephone systems in the 1800s. Today this sleepy canyon is home to abundant wildlife and day trekkers, making their way through it. Peñasquitos boasts unique geological formations, a majestic waterfall and groves of giant Californian live oaks. The forest rangers offer interpretive walks through the canyon to better experience nature's glory. It opens daily from 8a.
