This is a great park (funny, it's misspelled on the map.) It's large (8 acres), with plenty of grass, public restrooms, and a brand new playground (opened end of March 2009). The new playground is very cool and has large structures for both little and big kids. The park is right across the street from the Coronado Library, which has story times twice a week, making it the perfect place for an energy release after quiet time in the library. The first and third Sundays of the month, from 9AM to 4PM, there's "Art in the Park," with artists lining the Orange and 7th Street edges of the park. In April, Spreckels Park is the site of the Coronado Flower Show (which also features a used book sale put on by the library), and in the summer there are concerts in the gazebo every Sunday evening. All in all, a very nice park for the whole family, for many reasons.
