Day 1
1 Grab breakfast and shop the local food stalls/farmer's market at the Ferry Building.
2 Walk or hop on the historic trolley (F train) to Fisherman's Wharf.
3 Roam the area's many shops and attractions, and take in the ocean and bay views.
4 Hit Pier 33 for a ferry to Alcatraz (reservations recommended).
5 Dine on a yummy ethnic meal in Chinatown or North Beach.
6 Walk or cab it to North Beach for cappuccino and tiramisu followed by late-night book browsing at City Lights Bookstore.

Day 2
1 Spend your morning shopping in Union Square.
2 Head over to Hayes Valley for more indie shopping and lunch at Absinthe or La Boulange.
3 Spend the afternoon in Golden Gate Park, visiting the California Academy of Sciences, De Young Museum and Japanese Tea Garden.
4 Head to the Mission for dinner at Beretta and after-dinner drinks at The Monk's Kettle.
