Hemlock Tavern, San Francisco

Come for the cheap drinks, stay for the rockin' jukebox. Hemlock attracts a diverse crowd of mostly hipster and rocker types. The bar itself is a 360-degree walk-around on two different levels and there are tables, chairs and wall-bench seats. Seating is scarce at night and during live shows it can be difficult to get a drink. Hot peanuts are served for your snacking pleasure and there is also an enclosed smoking lounge for those interested. Live music plays in the back five to six nights a week. There is no cover charge to get into the bar, but a cover is typically charged to enter the music room.
