Nirvana, San Francisco

This Castro District restaurant is one of the few in the City that specializes in Burmese food, a combination of Chinese and Indian food. The red velvet curtains, miniature water fountains and overhead instrumental music give the restaurant an exotic atmosphere. The cuisine mixes the two genres of food in many of its dishes. Appetizers include traditional Indian Samosas filled with Chinese-curried vegetables and spices. Dinner entrées include Kama Curry Chicken with Japanese Rice Noodles. The service is terrific and the drinks at the full bar are enticing and can be tough to turn down.
