  • Day 2
  • 1 Spend the morning at the beach.
  • 2 Have lunch at Brophy Bros. looking over the harbor.
  • 3 Spend the afternoon investigating Stearns Wharfand the Ty Warner Sea Center.
  • 4 Hop the shuttle up Sate Street and have dinner Downtown at the Paradise Café.
  • Day 3
  • 1 Have a day of culture. Visit the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
  • 2 You can grab a quick lunch in the shopping center, then climb the steps to the Contemporary Arts Forum and catch the latest exhibit.
  • 3 Go back to your hotel and change, and plan an evening at the Symphony, or the Center Stage Theater.
  • Day 4
  • 1 Plan a full-day visit to the Santa Ynez Valley, or try some of the many tasting rooms in the city (you can get a list and map at Santa Barbara Urban Wine Trail).
  • 2 If you’ve opted to stay in town, make it a wine and foodie day: have lunch at La Super-Rica Taqueria, then dinner at Olio e Limone.
  • 3 Dance it all off at eos Lounge.
  • Day 6
  • 1 Head over to Montecito and have either a late breakfast or lunch at Pierre Lafond’s Montecito Deli.
  • 2 Drive down to Coast Village road and browse through the boutiques.
  • 3 Now head down to Summerland, where you can visit the antique shops on Lillie Avenue, then take in the views from Lookout Park, or relax with a stroll on the beach.
  • 4 Have a low-key dinner at Flavor of India or eat at SOhO and catch some live music.
  • 5 If it’s summer, there may be something you’ll want to catch at the Santa Barbara Bowl.
  • Day 7
  • 1 Pack a picnic and walk through the Douglas Family Preserve on a bluff over the ocean or take one of many hiking trails in the Santa Ynez Mountains, like the Hot Springs Trail (you can get hiking information from the Visitors Bureau).
  • 2 This is your last day, so spend the afternoon taking in State Street’s shops.
  • 3 Have dinner at Bouchon.
  • 4 See if there’s anything on at the Arlington Theatre, or maybe there’s a “Sings Like Hell” performance at the Lobero.
  • 5 End the evening at the bar at the Wine Cask.
