The Chautauqua Auditorium located in the historic Chautauqua Park is an ideal venue for lectures, meetings, concerts and performances. The auditorium built in 1901 has been included in the National Register of Historic Places. It has been voted in the top 10 venues where artists love to perform because of its superior acoustics and warm ambiance. This 2500 seater auditorium was doomed as the wooden structure got termite-ridden but a strong initiative by the local citizens restored this noble building to its former glory.

  I will never spend money to go to an event at Chautauqua Auditorium again. I paid $41.50 like several others to be inside closer to the band. I was told several times that I was not allowed to stand up, dance, and enjoy the music. I had to sit down or I would be kicked out. How are you supposed to sit down and be silent when you are listening to JJ Grey and Mofro?! The usher even grabbed me at one point and threatened me. Since when are you not allowed to dance at a live music event? If I would've known ahead of time that the crowd was going to be that lame, I wouldn't have bought tickets. So FYI-- if you want to see a band at Chautauqua, be prepared for pretentious, arrogant, and lame concert goers. Oh wait, this is Boulder. You probably already know that. Do they really think a band will want to come back to a crowd like that? Musicians thrive off a great crowd- not one that is afraid to get up and just sits in their seats. Music makes you free!! Let our spirits soar!- don't hold us down and threaten us.
