Mustang - Denver, Colorado
8500 Pena Boulevard, Denver, COMap
Neighborhood: Southeast Denver

When entering and leaving Denver International Airport, it's hard to miss Mustang. The 32-foot tall bright blue fiberglass horse with the glowing red eyes stands at the center of the arrivals/departures loop. Mustang is the final work by southwestern sculptor Luis Jimenez, who was nearly finished with the commission when the torso fell off the unfinished sculpture and crushed him to death in 2006. Mustang was later finished by other sculptors and moved to its home at the airport. Though Mustang is sometimes referred to by detractors as the Demon Horse of DIA, the statue is definitely one of Denver's defining sites. -Sabrina Zirakzadeh
