What began as a small ski town designed to emulate a Bavarian village has now become the second-largest ski resort in North America. Vail, Colorado is best known for its world-class skiing, but it's a year-round destination for those who love the great outdoors. A training ground for skiers and snowboarders (does the name Lindsey Vonn ring a bell?) during the winter, Vail is a Mecca for outdoor enthusiasts during the summer (professional kayaker Brad Ludden calls Vail home). It’s a place filled with music throughout the year, with Snow Daze and Spring Back to Vail bringing in headliners like Ludacris, Government Mule, Kid Rock and Guster during the winter and spring, respectively.
