Lucibello's, New Haven

A taste of Italian pastries can be had at Lucibello's, one of New Haven's great Italian bakeries. Come in to try some of the greatest baked goods on this side of the Atlantic at this small, family-owned and operated business. One of the best times of year to visit is in March when zeppole (a ring-shaped puff pastry with ricotta-based vanilla or chocolate fillings) are available around the feast day of St Joseph (March 19) and an all-year favorite are the sfogliatelle, a flaky pastry in a clam-shell shape filled with custard or creamy ricotta. During summer months, fresh Italian ice is for sale. Buon appetito!
