Spread across 19 acres (7.7 hectares), the Fort C.F. Smith Park has a number of attractions to keep you enthralled. This mammoth green oasis on the North 24th Street in Arlington features the Civil War Earthwork Ruins, The Hendry House, Ornamental Peace Garden, Bird Creek, wildlife and a half-mile trail through the park. Enjoy a walk through the park and view the numerous historic relics that are scattered across. One of these is the 20th-century The Hendry House, which can be hired hosting private events. A number of animals like rabbits, squirrels, fox and deers are observed here, much to the delight of the kids. The flora found here includes plantations of Ginko, Japanese Raisin Tree, English Walnut, Royal Paulownia and Bottle-Brush Buckeye, some of which were planted by Dr. Hendry. Open on all days, the park offers a great respite for one and all.
