Right in the heart of Washington, is Portico Cafe on the second floor of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. Open seasonally from April through mid-October, the outside seating is great on a sunny day. Enjoy piping hot espresso, wine, salads, sandwiches and pastries as you engage in people watching on the busy street.
