Overview

Located on the top floor of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Theater Lab is home to the third longest running play in the history of American theater, Shear Madness. The 399-seat performance space has been the host to 7800 live productions of the show, with the first ever performance taking place on August 13, 1987. Theater Lab is a widely popular destination for tourists, as well as Washingtonians, with a desire to see live theater. Shear Madness is an improvisational comedic mystery that lets the audience decide the ending.
